Emergency Contact

It is very important to have an emergency contact on record so that staff at the College have someone to contact in case something happened to a student.  To update an emergency contact, follow the directions below:

  1. Log on to SONISWeb using your existing e-mail and pin.
  2. Click on the Update Bio link at the top of the page.
  3. Click on Add New Contact and enter the appropriate information.

Emergency Notification via Text Messaging

SonisWeb provides the College with the ability to send text messages directly to students who sign up for this service. This will greatly enhance our ability to communicate with you during emergencies. But you have to sign up for this service.

To receive emergency alerts by text message, follow the five easy steps below:

  1. Log on to SONISWeb using your existing e-mail and pin.
  2. Click on the Update Bio link at the top of the page.
  3. Enter your cell phone number* and your provider.
  4. Check the "Text Me Flag" to allow text messages to be sent.
  5. Click submit at the bottom of the page.

If you want all calls from the college to come to your cell phone, you can also change your primary phone number to be the same as your cell phone. Simply make sure that the number listed next to "phone" is your cell phone number.

* By providing your cell phone number, you agree to incur costs from your carrier for received text messages or telephone notifications. Carolinas College will only send notification messages in the event of an emergency or test of the system (once per quarter, at most). Please note: Text message alerts will NOT be used for weather delays/closings.
